It was all celebration at the Machakos Institute of Technology 12th graduation ceremony since its inception 15 years ago.

The ceremony was held on Friday 13th October 2023 at Machakos Kenyatta Stadium and presided over by Prof. John K. Muteti the Acting Chief Executive Officer – NACADA.

More than 400 students graduated and were awarded Certificates and Diplomas in a number of programmes. The ceremony was witnessed by the Board of Governors, members of staff, thousands of parents, students and invited guests.

In her address to the congregation the Principal, Madam Judy Kyania enumerated the many achievements the institution had accomplished. She challenged the graduands to be risk takers as this is a key requirement in today’s world.

The Director Mr. Benjamin Mutie in his address echoed what MIT is; a Center of excellence for middle level education focused on Technology, academic rigor, experimental learning and entrepreneurship.

Mr. Mutie went ahead urging the graduands to use the acquired skills to contribute to the growth and development of the country and be role models to fellow youth. He lauded the efforts made by parents and guardians of the graduands that have seen them complete their studies.

The Chief Guest Prof John K. Muteti in his address to the congregation echoed the principal’s remarks on taking risks. He challenged them to be risk takers. Noting if the risk works they win but if they fail that is a platform to build their resilience which is also key.

He went ahead to advice the graduands oh how important friends they keep contribute to the direction their future takes and should therefore be very selective on that.

Prof Muteti also noted that the graduands have the potential to achieve greatness and only need to do their best in every opportunity presented to them.

His closing remarks came with a pledge to take on board a number of our students for internship and mentorship at NACADA.
