While the institute is heavily concentrated on academic excellence, we understand that other dimensions of institute life are imperative for the integral growth of our students. This is where the Office of the Dean of Students fits in within the larger dynamics the institute life. There is a well structured security team headed by a chief security officer who coordinates all security issues in the institute. Where necessary the police may be contacted.
All students are encouraged to join recognized institute societies of their choice. Currently we have Christian Union, Youth Christian Society and Seventh Day Adventist. Our aim is to promote student spiritual faith.
The institute has maintained a good working relationship with the major hospitals in Machakos and our students are sent to the hospital for any medical attention needed. The hospitals include Machakos Level 5, Bishop Kioko, Shalom community hospital among others.
Beside academic work the Institute organizes all entertainment through the Students' Governing body. Some of the activities include the beauty pageants', talent search etc.
MIT has an active student union that elects their leaders democratically, the elections are held every year. After the elections the elected leaders are trained on effective leadership skills before assuming office. The student government is composed of:
MIT participates actively in sports and our students train every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Every year he college organizes tournaments where all the major colleges in Machakos are invited to participate. The college boasts of strong teams in Foot ball, volleyball, Karate and basket ball.
