CCH 500: CERTIFICATE IN COMMUNITY HEALTH


This is a one year course, whose objective is to equip students with knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable them to appreciate the relationship between knowledge and values to health problems and produce Community Health workers who can appreciate the roles of other professionals and involve them in the search for solutions to Health problems.

CCH 501: Introduction to Community Development
CCH 502: Communication Skills.
CCH 503: Introduction to Community Health.
CCH 504: Health Education
CCH 505: Social Research Methods.
CCH 506: Nutrition and Dietetics.
CCH 507: Communicable Diseases.
CCH 508: Environment and Health
CCH 509: Law in Community Health.
CCH 510: Basic Microbiology and Parasitology.
CCH 511: Community Health Techniques.
CCH 512: Computer Skills.
CCH 513: Field Practicum and report

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Minimum qualifications are KCSE D+ or KCE Div. 3 or the equivalent
  • Course open to Beginners, Community development workers, pastors, Welfare officers and Fresh students
